Internal components are left with standing water, even when the boat is out of the water. This water creates a viable ecosystem for invasive species to live for more than a month. They eventually get released when the watercraft enters a new water body.
Compliance you can prove
Each boater receives a washing certificate after using an Ozero Station. The certificate is issued only after a sufficient quantity of water has been used. Making it hard for boaters to by-pass washing their boats. The certificate also gives information on what components were washed and how efficiently.
Solutions are currently being developed to enforce specific quantities of water for internal and external cleaning, depending on the watercraft brand and equipment.
